From sunfaded and airy to shadowed and antique, this collection is sooo lovely. The necklaces remind me of the scene in the Babysitters Club movie, when Claudia is hammering forks and turning them into a windchime to show how artsy she is.

Spring 2010 was my first season without Lacroix, but Thimister made a return with an incredible, cohesive, well-executed collecion. Unfortunately the color is off because I messed up in photoshop. Will update with better photos eventually.

This is my favorite season from Cloak. Alexandre Plokhov's last collection was Spring 2007, but he helped Donatella design for Versace's menswear for 3 years after. He's recently resigned from Versace and has announced he's designing for his own line again in Spring 2012. I can't wait to see his return!!!!!

Kenzo SS 2011

Spring 2011 was Kenzo's 40th anniversary and Antonio Marras started the first half of the show with amazing colors and textiles that were airy and bright. The second half was a mix of Kenzo's archive and Marras' work for the label. Both halves are incredible in their own respect, while the first half was airy/fresh where the second half was rich/ceremonious, Kenzo is consistently inspired and lovely.

Alexander McQueen Spring 2010

Incredibly high-tech, this was McQueen's last completed collection, and the showmanship was incredible as always. Based on his idea of humans (I like to think aliens) returning to the sea when the ice caps melt, the collection was ambitious and well-worth the hype.

The flowers in the boot laces are awesome, the sequins and glitter eyeshadow took it home. His previous season had menswear so I hope to see a return in the future.

Givenchy Couture FW 2009

Givenchy couture is much more intricate these past few seasons, but a bit stuck doing the same ultra sleek, long, and jeweled silhouettes. I love this collection because it makes me think of an amazing dinner party with egyptian and byzantine aliens and mummies!

The perfect collection before designing costumes for Black Swan, the show begins with frosty whites that get enveloped in spider webs-knits and blood red dye. The pink and blonde dresses are gorgeous even though they don't immediately fit in the collection, but whatev. Go Mulleavy sisters!

Marc Jacobs FW 2006

Following the success of his bright and floral Spring 2005 season, his Fall 2006 season was a more complete transition than his Fall 2005. With darker subdued colors, layers upon layers, heavier fabrics and silhouettes, and only one floral print- this season was a bold departure that other designers took a year to follow.

Alexander McQueen FW 2008

The entire production is phenomenal. Inspired by the late Isabella Blow, the uplifting finale makes me even sadder about McQueen [RIP] but in his life he created this beautiful world for the both of them. I will post more of his incredible shows soon

Undercover FW 2006

The fabric mask/hoods can be distracting (and a couple models got lost on the runway) but they are incredible. They reference bondage, burkas, and Abu Ghraib; and were a eerie contrast to other looks that season. The clothes are nice but can be confused for something by Yohji Yamamoto or Rei Kawakubo, however the masks for me are enough to stand on their own.

Comme Des Garcon FW 2005

Inaya from stray-souls turned me onto this season, I had never searched Comme Des Garcon's archives but this the entire look is !!!! and has become one of my favorites. The sugar skull makeup and veils are beautiful and twisted and perfectly complement the dresses. I recommend looking at the entire season if you are interested.

Similar to Comme Des Garcons FW 2005 sugar-skull brides [will post soon], this season of Tao's tie-dye layers and capes create a russian-doll vibe that at times reminds me of Gustav Klimt's floral paintings.

The campaign photographs for this season are one of my favorites, they're shown at the end. This season was refreshing compared to the usual Spring florals and frills -the color palette and the fabrics are so cold yet flourescent and they photograph beautifully.
